For the Easter egg hunt we did a treasurehunt ,each egg would give a clue for the next egg to be found. The last egg revealed the location of treasure which was icecream. This was a fun alternative to filling the eggs with candy.After the kids found their treasure they did "create " an egg hunt for the adults also giving us clues where to find the eggs.

On Easter Sunday in the morning we went to a Easter service for Gospel in a black community church. The church performed an amazing Easter performance and the Gospel singing was fantastic ( 3600 Crenshaw Blv LA)

Dessi is doing great in school. I have not written anything lately about school. Currently age wise he is in second grade. But his skills are "all over the place" His reading improved dramatically this year.He is right on target and it will be an easy transition into 3th grade reading.His reading comprehension is also right on target. He reads the story and gets it. Otherwise is doing great too, math is still his strengths. I still love the school where he is going too. I like that there are different ages in the classroom from 6 years old to 14 years old.Currently there are no special needs kids in this school. Everybody worked on their own pace. The school offers a fieldtrip every week.In March for example they went skiing, to the Zoo and to the I Max theater.The school also offers Irish Dance, Sports,Hip Hop and Art classes. One of Dessi's favorite is that the kids practice daily playing in the school band.He also takes private music lessons in school. Dessi has many friends in school and a best friend has chosen all by himself. He plays with younger kids and older kids, boys and girls.The kids are also doing chores at school, everybody is very involved .Dessi does take academics very seriously, thats just the way he is, he is not the kids that needs to be reminded of his homework which is very little at that school.I wish he had more free playtime in school. He probably gets only 1 to 2 hours free playtime.( the school goes from 9 -5.30)Next months will take a trip to the " wild" the Principals of the school loves nature and outdoors, they are building a house "in the wild " for the kids to stay overnight and learn about nature. WE did visit that place as a family, its an amazing place. Dessi loves the school and he complains if I pick him up "early"

W a boy from school who also lives close by came over to play today, both boys spend hours bug catching in the yard and they were building a structure out of magnets up in the treehouse.

We colored Eastereggs today , we invited I over to join us and then we hang the eggs in the yard on a bush. I blew the eggs out, then we colored them with markers and then we put a string on each egg, HAPPY EASTER

Dessi had a field trip with his school this week, they went skiing. My husband a good skier volunteered to help . That way I got some pics. This was Dessi's first time skiing, he did really well, I am sure it helped that snow and nature are very familiar to him.

Dessi and I took a hike this morning, we saw so many different species of native plants as we climbed up all the way on top of a mountain, Oak , manzanita, buckweat, sycamore amongst many others , this Forrest is very close to our house and there is a lot of water after the heavy rains

Today we visited the lantern Festival at the Chinese new year.This is a great time to learn and enjoy Chinese culture. Dessi loved the calligraphy, the Origami, the performances and the Chinese paper cutting. He had a great time learning from the "old Chinese masters" . This year the Lantern Festival focused more on Chinese culture than on the Chinese year itself. What a great afternoon. The Lantern Festival is usually celebrated at the end of Chinese year.( this year it was 1 week to late). Dessi really enjoys learning about different customs of different cultures , it is just so much fun to see him really into it.
