This weekend we went to Angelus Oks which as about 40 Minutes from Big Bear, since we were so close to Big Bear we did take a stop at Big bear and did some fishing.
This was our first trip at the Angelus Oaks area, I must say it was amazing, it was perfect staying at a secluded cabin in the woods right at the river. It was especially beautiful because the leaves are changing in the fall. There is no dought that we we will be back, the latest in the spring. It was already pretty cold up there , I think in the winter it might be just to tough to stay in a secluded cabin. I am not a fan of being snowed in in an area where there is no store and barely any neighbores at all. As I said the area is very secluded. But I do like to come back in the spring. For 80 Dollars a cabin you can't beat it, you MUST bring all the food and plenty of water. Its a paradise for children here.Plenty of space in the woods and on the river to play. The cabin we had had no TV but we had plenty of games , so we did games and stories with the kids.

( our hike at the reopened path along the river, nearby where we live)

Since the river has been closed we needed to find alternatives of spending time in the woods nearby on the weekend. I spend my days off last week to explore the area to find nature. I did find a recently reopened hiking path to waterfall nearby. When we take the kids on a hike it cant be a a long boring path , it has to be interesting for them usally trees, rocks and water. places like that can be hard to find nearby. I talked to a lot of locals about secret places and finally I did find a great place where the kids could enjoy themself. It does have a river and a waterfall. I also found a bikepath where we can bike this fall and winter.
